Default Comparing strings - 11-21-2008 , 05:49 AM

Hi, i have a simple query:
SELECT * FROM product WHERE symbol like '%';

And it returns empty set.
Query
SELECT * FROM product
without WHERE part, returns a lot of data.
What am i doing bad?
