We got the following errors when synchronize the HTML file between Oracle
and ASA,



Message: ODBC: [DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol
driver][Oracle]ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG
column (ODBC State = HY000, Native error code = 1461



Any ideas?

How long have you been running ASA 9 synchronizing with Oracle 11g? We have never tested ASA 9 or
the Data Direct ODBC Driver using MobiLink with Oracle 11g. We support Oracle 11g using SA 11.0.1.

As with Oracle 11g, ASA 9 does not support ASE 15.0. You need to run MobiLink 11.0.1. I recommend
upgrading to MobiLink 11.0.1 to get the required support for ASE 15.0 and Oracle 11g.

Oracle 11/ASE 15 consolidated - DBMLSRV 11.0.1 - ASA 9.02 remote?

It's rather surprising that the ASE 15 & ASA 9.0.2 combination is unsupprted
since ASE 15 has been around since 2005? 2006?

Oracle 11g/ASE 15 consolidated with 11.0.1 MobiLink server using -xo switch will support ASA 9.0.2
remotes.

ASE 15 was released September 12, 2005 which was right in between our ASA 9.0.2 release date of
November 3, 2004 and our SA 10.0.0 release date of September 15, 2006. We decided to add support for
ASE 15 to SA 10.0.0.

OK, I can understand the dilemma and the choice made. But was there any
notification mechanism from Waterloo (or Emeryville) on this particular
non-support? In a similar fashion I do remember finding out that SQL Remote
wouldn't work with ASE 15.x from TechWave (in 2003? 2004?) - otherwise no
notification.
