Default HTTP/HTTPS or TCPIP ? -x dbmlsrv9 - 02-10-2006 , 10:21 AM

Wondering which is better if using Ultralite 9 / Pocket PC 2003 as clients.
Anybody can point me to docs / whitepapers that point out pros and cons of
each ?

TCPIP is a much more efficient protocol than HTTP/HTTPS. Typically the
only time one uses HTTP is when the remotes cannot create a direct TCPIP
connection to the ML server, and so are forced to synchronize through a
webserver (usually using the ML Redirector in the webserver).

IMO, there is no logical reason to use HTTP/HTTPS when your remote can
directly connect to ML (barring networking restrictions on the ToS).
