Default Error: Unable to read from the 'tcpip' network connection - 07-18-2006 , 04:57 AM

Hi,

how to search for the reason for this error message
in the ML Server log:

E. 07/17 21:04:05. <1.4> [MDA_III_NEU]: Error: Unable to read from the
'tcpip' network connection. Timed out trying to read 2 bytes.
E. 07/17 21:04:05. <1.4> [MDA_III_NEU]: Error: [-10034] No download
confirmation from remote database

This happens intermittend (but much too often) in ASA
and ML version 9.0.2.2451.
The setting is as follows: A mobile device is connected
with a PC through a cradle. The PC is in a network
which is connected through VPN with another network
containing the consolidated DB and ML server.

It seems to be the fact that quality of network connection and
amount of download data affect the probability of this error.
But the network connection works okay, have checked that
with other programs. On the mobile devices ML remote dialog it
looks as if the device have heavy workload at the end of the
download phase and therefor maybe does'nt asnwer some
requests from the ML server or exceeds a timeframe within
which the server expects some messages from the remote
client.

TIA

Chris Werner

That about sums it up.
The error message is relayed from ML to its log from the Operating
System. So at some point during this process the network (hiccuped) was
lost and the TCPIP traffic reported failure.

Hi,

I also have the same error message many times, and you have suggested
the same link. I have also said that, "we are application developer,
not the system manager. I cannont change my customers network setings
acording to my solution. dbmlsync.exe must override these parameters
with a switch set."

I am still insisting on the the same opinion.

Ahmet Sari
