Hello,

sometimes a big sql is running out of space, so the temp-file is growing
and growing and then, the disk is full and the system stands.

I found the db-option temp_space_limit_check. When i switch it on, does
the dbsrv bring an error on the connection running "out of space", so
that we are not going furthermore into the situation that the disk is full?

What other possibilietes do i have with dbsrv 9.0.1 and what with 11.0?

The temp file is used to store cache pages that do not belong in a dbspace
or the transaction log file. The most common of these are pages required to
materialize a result set so running the big query causes the file to grow
makes sense.

If you enable the option TEMP_SPACE_LIMIT_CHECK the connection trying to use
more than it's quota will get a SQLSTATE_TEMP_SPACE_LIMIT error and the
statement will be cancelled.

This should prevent you from running out of disk space.

You should still sort out why you are allowing "runaway" queries like this
or add some disk so the problem doesn't occur.
