Default In Win2003 Server doesn't create Services item - 01-17-2010 , 09:00 AM

Hi, I'm new in this forum.
I installed Sybase Anywhere Studio 8 on a Win2000 Server ->
all OK.
When I install on a Win2003 Server, the same installation
doesn't create the "Services" item. Is there a patch to
install? Thank you.

This was addressed in an EBF to ASA8.0.3. Please consider moving to the
8.0.3 with the latest EBF level.

Welcome to this forum!

See http://downloads.sybase.com/swd/base.do?client=support for the
download Chris mentions.

After you log in, pick SQL Anywhere, then change the display to
"Display All platforms in all months", then scroll down to the
"Platform: Windows 86" section, and find this download (it's near the
bottom)...

SQL Anywhere Studio - Express Bug Fix, Update of 8.0.3 to build 5594
(all components)

If you are running 8.0.0 or 8.0.1 or 8.0.2 you will need to apply this
download first:

SQL Anywhere Studio - Maintenance Release, Upgrade of 8.0.x to 8.0.3
(English, French, German, Japanese, and Chinese)

Just so you know, you can still get answers to questions about Version
8, but there will be no more fixes made; Version 8 was "end-of-lifed"
long ago, and Version 9 will be end-of-lifed very soon.

Here is the current status for all platforms:
http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1002288

That means if you run into a new bug in V8 or V9, it will not be
fixed. V11.0.1 is a very solid release, better performance than V8.
V12 is in beta right now. Also note, V9 just got Windows 7 / 2008
support in what is likely to be the last fix release.

I'm not trying to scare you into upgrading, if V8 works for you then
carry on. Just be aware of the risks.
