Default Sybase SQL Anywhere Database Engine Version 5.5.00 Build #1073 - 03-17-2006 , 10:49 AM

I have a contact manager (Sharkware v4 by Cogni-Tech) that
I've been using for 12 years (I know, I know, I just
couldn't give it up) that uses Sybase SQL Anywhere Database
Engine Version 5.5.00 Build #1073. The company was bought
and the product discontinued several years ago. I really
want to get my information out, and I think I have a driver
for it, but I need the username and passowrd. Can anyone
help?

The default user id and password for a SQL Anywhere is "DBA" and "SQL". If
the password has been changed, you're out of luck unless you have access to
the database engine source code (which you don't).

Can you point me to the right driver?

To connect to the database, first start an engine using dbeng50.exe :

dbeng50.exe c:\full\path\to\db.db

Then use isql to connect to the database :

isql -c "uid=dba;pwd=sql"
