Default SQLAnywhere 8.03 5444 - 11-14-2007 , 10:12 AM

I have upgraded a Netware 6.5 server from 5.5 sqlanywhere to 8.03 5444. For
what seems like no reason at all the server now abends without warning. The
abend log includes the following (shown below) The server NLM is loaded as
follows: LOAD sys:asany\dbsrv8 -ct- -c 25M -tq 22:00 -ti 0 -tl 0 -x
TCPIP{myip=192.168.250.1;DoBroadcast=No} vol1:data/datdb.db

What should I be looking for?
Why is it doing it?

Thanks in advance

I don't know of any reason for the problem
to occur in 8.0.3 at your build.

If it helps, you will want to verify that the ebf
application took. A number of Netware customers
are noticing (and I have reproduced this) that the
application of an ebf across the network to the
installed GA product, will fail to replace the files.
While it woulds seem to be a permissions thing,
that does not seem to be the case. The standard
way to apply an ebf with recent Netware OS's
is to copy the files local to your Windows workstation
apply the ebf to those, and then copy the files back.

I mention that, because you seem to be hitting something
we have not been hearing anything about, but there
are bug fixes that may explain this, only if you are
actually running at an older ebf.

Also watch for unloaded all of our NLM. Often
stopping the server did not unload our DBEXTF*.NLM
module. So patching of that module could fail for that
reason.

Thanks Nick. I will have a look at this.
