Default Sql Anywhere post-install licensing - 01-15-2010 , 08:42 AM

Hi,
I've installed SQL Anywhere 11.0.1 Developer and
subsequently applied the EBF patches we needed in our
environment.

Now we got a license key for Mobilink and n-sql anywhere
clients and i need to license both the ml server and the
remote clients. I cannot find a tool in sybase central that
aids me in this task nor i can run the installer package
again to re-enter the license key since it tells me that my
installed version is more up-to-date.

1) Do i need to uninstall the entire package and reinstall
it + apply EBFs or is there a cmdline tool?
2) After that the server has been license is there a way to
deploy the license to the remote clients? (e.g.: by sending
a license file or something similar)

TIA
Ivan

The recommendation is to uninstall the Developer Edition and then Install SQL Anywhere using the
license key. This is followed by applying the latest EBF. All EBFs are cumulative, so you only need
to apply the latest EBF.

You can use the Server Licensing utility (dblic) to apply software licenses to the SQL Anywhere
database server. There is a license file, dbsrv11.lic or dbeng11.lic, that is used to license the
database server. Documentation:
