I have a C# application that reads in a bunch of data from a sql anywhere db table. It then goes record by record, does some processing and validation, and then updates various tables in the same sql anywhere db. During this process, the DB randomly stops responding to other applications. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Without rebooting or restarting db service, the database magically comes back and responds to other apps. |

How long does the DB stop responding? I have a vague memory of the database engine being non-responsive during checkpoints in older versions of the product, so if you're talking about seconds of non-responsiveness that could be what's going on. -- Reg Domaratzki, Sybase iAnywhere Solutions Please reply only to the newsgroup Documentation : Exercise your WRITE @DocCommentXchange: DCX.sybase.com SQL Anywhere Patches and EBFs : http://downloads.sybase.com/swd/base.do -> Choose SQL Anywhere -> Optionally set filter to "Display ALL platforms IN ALL MONTHS" |
