We have a user who recently upgraded to SQL Anywhere 10, Version 10.0.0.3722 from ASA Version 9.0.2.3137. Since they've upgraded (about 3 weeks ago), they've noticed that the dbsrv10.exe is continually using about 25% of their CPU and occasionally (about once per week so far) it goes up close to 100% for no apparent reason. When that has happened, all of the apps on that server get very slow so they've stopped the Sybase service and then restarted it. Upon restarting, the CPU usage returns to 25% again but otherwise they can process without any issues. They are using a Windows 2003 Server, Service pack 1. We have many other users using version 10.0.0.3722 without experiencing similar problems. Any ideas on what may be causing the excessive CPU usage or what we could do to rectify the problwm? |

You might find Foxhound to be helpful in pinpointing the cause, or try using the Application Profiling facility in Sybase Central. Thanks Breck. Can you provide me the registration key? You might find Foxhound to be helpful in pinpointing the cause, or try using the Application Profiling facility in Sybase Central.
