Default SA10: High availability System with 64bit and 32bit Server - 10-09-2009 , 03:01 AM

Hi,
I have a question regarding the High availability feature of a SA
10.0.0.1.3931:
Can I have a 64bit Primary Server with a 32bit Mirror? The reason for
this is, that we want to use the old server as the new mirror-partner
and the new more powerfull server as the primary.

best regards

Felix

Felix,

I have not tested this setup, but in my understanding, HA should be
platform independent, as it is basically a "mirroring of transactions",
and all SA databases *are* platform independent.

All the 3 database servers (2 partners and arbiter) have to know about
each other is the latter's connection string, and connecting to a
database server is totally independent of the server's platform - just
as any Windows 32bit client can both connect to a Windows 64bit server
or a LINUX box.
