The fact that the report runs fine from PB and ISQL makes me wonder
what could be wrong when connecting with JConnect. It seems unlikely
that JConnect could cause a server crash ... do you have the server
console log output file?

Is the mention of 64bit OSs part of your migration here? Was/Is this
fine with our 32bit software? Or is it a problem only with/on the new
hardware/OS combinations? (which seem like they may also be a new
variable here)

Normally I would turn on request level logging to see what exactly
is going on at the last moments of the server ... and work out from
there.

Hi Guys,

We are in the process of migrating our application from a client/server
(PowerBuilder) environment using ODBC to Java using JDBC for database
connectivity. Currently we are running SQL Anywhere version 10.0.1 build
3976, and JDBC driver build 26564. When we run a certain reoprt within
the application the database server crashes, but when the same SQL in the
report is excuted through ISQL it runs fine. I have attached the crash
log that is generated after recreating the problem on my system.

We are using JBOSS 5.1.0.GA as the application server, my system is
Windows XP SP3 32-bit with a3.40GHz CPU and 3.00 GB of RAM. We been able
to reproduce the problem on Server 2008 64-bit and Server 2003 64-bit
systems.

Thanks in advance,

Robert

A quick look at the stack trace indicates the server
was only running just one query and was busy trying
to send the result set when it crashed.

Is there something specific about the result set that may
not fit with the JConnect wire protocol?

If you can get it to work with JBOSS I would like to
see if the iAnywhere JDBC driver behaves any differently
here. Failing that, I believe JBoss can also connect through
ODBC so comparing with that may be of interest as well.
