Default Proxytable ASA11 and ora 10.2: Encoding of german special chars - 11-17-2009 , 10:55 AM

Hi,

i currently use ASA 11.0.1.2222 and ORA 10.2. I created a Proxytable via
ODBC in ASA to retrieve data from ORA. If I select data from the
proxtable in ASA, I get the data with wrong encoding of germans ßäöü
etc. If I select the data direct via ODBC ( for example with
Powerbuilder ) the encoding is correct.

Any ideas what's wrong?

regards

Levi

Character set conversion issues can be very difficult to
resolve and for that reason I strongly recommend you
contact technical support to help resolve.

If you are not doing so already I would suggest trying this
out with the "iAnywhere Solutions Oracle driver".

And if you are already doing so you should probably need
to know that is probably causing the charset conversion to
bring back the data converted to utf-16 or utf-8; and since
that ODBC driver is different from the one PB is using it
may be you have been capturing those characters in a non-standard
fashion.
