Default Password for SQL Anywhere Monitor database - 01-14-2010 , 09:22 AM

Hi,

I would like to configure a backup event in my SA Monitor
database. Can anyone tell me what the DBA username /
password is please?

Also, applying EBF 2352 overwrote the SA Monitor database
and I lost all my settings.

Hi Phil,

The SA Monitor's web-based interface can let you set up a backup of the
SA Monitor's configuration and historical data. To do this, log in as an
administrator and do the following:

1) Click on the Administration tab
2) Click on the Configuration tab
3) Click "Edit"
4) Click on the Maintenance tab
5) Where it says "Maintenance will be performed daily at", enter the
time when you wish the backup to occur
6) Where it says "Back up the SQL Anywhere Monitor data to the following
directory", enter the full path to the directory where you wish the
backup to occur (Note: the backup directory must be local to the
computer running the SA Monitor)
7) Click "Save"

After doing this, the SA Monitor will back itself up every day at the
time you specified in step 5) to the directory you specified in step 6).

I'm curious about the issue you saw applying the 2352 EBF. Were you
using the standalone SA Monitor install / EBF or were you using the SA
Monitor that comes with the complete SQL Anywhere install? Also, what
operating system did this occur on?

Thanks,

Hi, I will check out the web interface for backups.

It was the complete SQL Anywhere install EBF 2324. Windows
Server 2003 32bit. I stopped the SAMonitor service, applied
the EBF and restarted the service. After which the monitor
had lost everything.
