Default ODBC Datasource - sqlany11 on Windows 7 not listed - 12-11-2009 , 10:50 AM

Hello,

I have installed the sqlany11.msi on Windows 7 and when I go
to add a ODBC System DSN SQL Anywhere 11 is not listed as as
option.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

TIA,
Lisa

Is your Windows 7 machine a 64 or 32 bit system?
Did you install the 64 or 32 bit version of the SQL Anywhere?

if it's a 64-bit Win7 system, try running the 32-bit ODBC Manager in
%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32 and see if the driver is listed there.

Thank you for the quick response.

Windows 7 machine is 64 bit system
How do I create 64 bit version of the SQL Anywhere?

I do see the driver listed when i run 32-bit ODBC.

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

If you built the sqlany11.msi from the "SQL Anywhere Deployment Wizard",
you should be aware that this will only package the 32-bit software.
64-bit installs are not supported at this time.

If you require the 64-bit ODBC driver, you will need to manually
register the \bin64\dbodbc11.dll from your original SQL Anywhere 11
install into the driver manager on the target computer utilizing the
instructions in the documentation:

http://dcx.sybase.com/index.php#1101...nt-deploy.html

(e.g. regsvr32 "%SQLANY11%\bin64\dbodbc11.dll" )

Regards,
