Default Microsoft Server 2003 licensing - 10-22-2007 , 11:37 AM

Hi
We want to move our SQLAnywhere database to a new server. We
have a 25 user SQLAnywhere license. Does anyone know the
minimum number of microsoft CAL licences we need on the new
server to be legal? Neither Sybase nor Microsoft seem able
to answer the question.
Thanks in advance

MS needs to answer this as it is strictly a MS licensing issue. See
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/sam/lic_cal.mspx.

I would assume that you need as many user CAL's as you will have users.
Whether it goes by simultaneous or total different users you'll have to
ask Microsoft.

It is not a simple as that according to microsoft.com. You may have
options to be per user, per device, and in some cases per CPU. The link
that I included discusses in more detail. However, I am not a person who
can answer MS licensing questions...
