Default Last modified date of .db file changes on changing the password ofuser using Sybase Central - 08-14-2009 , 04:04 AM

Hi All,

We have an application which uses SQLAnywhere 11 database . This
database have 2 db files - acco.db & matrix.db. Recently we've
collected this database from all 10 branches. I needed to change the
password of the dba user for all 10 databases and store them for
backup purpose. After changing the password, I noticed that the last
modified date of the matrix.db got changed for 4 databases. For other
6 databases, change of password didn't change the last modified date
of matrix.db.

This databases were in SQLAynwhere 5 initially and we recently
migrated them to SQLAnywhere 11 around 3 months back. I've tested with
SQLAnywhere 5 but there change of password do not change db files'
last modified date.

Any idea why the last modified date changes in 11 ?

The "last modified" date of a database file doesn't change after every
operation. The database's last modified date will only change when the
server checkpoints, extends (grows) the file, or shuts down.
