Default JDBCSET_CATALOG error in JDBC connection - 09-10-2009 , 10:22 AM

Hi there,

I'm trying to connect to a SQLAny10 DB on a remote server
from OpenOffice running on Mac OS/X 10.6.
I've already tried jconn2.jar and jconn3.jar classes. The
server is running 3 DBs. When I try to connect to the third
db(ID=2) through the data source URL, I'll get an error
010SK: Database can not set option SET_CATALOG. Then the
firt db will be selected (ID=0). JConnect support is
installed correctly in the db. Same problem with
iSQL-Viewer.
Sybase-Central can access the correct db without a problem.
Any ideas what's wrong?

Thx for your help, Rado

Can you be more specific on how you verified this? Note that there are
two (general) ways that that customers can use to set up jConnect
support in SQL Anywhere.

First, there is the "\sp\sql_asa.sql" file that comes as part of
jConnect - this file is likely not the one you will want to use, since
there have been noted issues with other customers in the past.

I'd highly recommend following the SQL Anywhere documentation to
re-install jConnect support using the "%SQLANY10%\scripts\jcatalog.sql"
file instead.

See:

That is exactly what I did. First I've used the Upgrade
option in Sybase Central, which told me that JConnect
support is already installed. Nevertheless I did start the
upgrade but nothing happened. After that I did the READ
command in InteractiveSQL for all three DBs - just to make
sure.

I've tried the same thing in OpenOffice 3.1.1 under Windows.
Same error.

Maybe something is wrong in how I start the DB server?
dbsrv10 -c 1024M -cs -ch 1920M -n DBSRV2 -x TCPIP -ud -o
/opt/impuls/dbmessage.log
/opt/impuls/database/alfresco-21.db
/opt/impuls/database/textil.db
/opt/impuls/database/Language.db -s none

dbmessage.log doesn't show any error.

Thanks for your support, Rado
