I am trying to apply the Sybase upgrade from 7.0.x to 7.0.4 (which I
downloaded from the Sybase site). Installshield extracts the files
from the exe to a TEMP directory and the system sits on the Setup
screen and progress bar (preparing the Installshield Wizard) for about
a minute. Eventually, it does display the Installshield Welcome
screen and proceeds through the various prompts. Ultimately, I get,
"An error occurred during the move data process: -113" for the
data1.hdr file. Here's the weird thing: initially (right after the
extract), the TEMP directory does contain the installation files that
were extracted. Once it comes up to the Welcome screen, however, all
of the files are gone except for _ISDel.exe, which I presume is the
delete utility. If I save a copy of the files before they are
deleted, I can run setup.exe later and it will apply the update. This
is not an acceptable solution in my customer's environment. The
question is: why are the files being deleted? Is Installshield messed
up for this upgrade? I have tried this on multiple computers.
