Deepali,

Which steps did you use to try and rebuild? Are you unloading to a
reload.sql file first, or...?

Regards,

Also, what version of SQL Anywhere are you using? Are you trying to
upgrade or just rebuild?

If you capture the reload.sql file from a dbunload.exe run, and then
use dbinit.exe to create an empty database, and then use dbisql to run
the reload.sql file, it should stop at the statement with the error.

Then you will have more information, can ask another question.

Tell us the version, we can give you the commands to use.

Hi Jeff, Breck,

Thank you for replying...

I am on ASA7, Sybase central 3.2
I am using Rebuild wizard to rebuild the database for
performance gains.
Earlier i was getting errors like table not found for a view
which already existed with the same name.
I renamed the view and created the table with that name
which mitigated the error.
Since I created columns in these tables, I found one where
only value was 'I', I changed the data type of that column
and now the rebuild is finally complete after 1 month of
trial.

Is the rebuild wizard utility functionally same to dbunload
command with -an because i find using wizards more
convenient than command prompt so i thought of giving this a
try and leaving dbunload as the last option if it didn't
work.

Please let me know if this approach is correct.

many thanks, Deepali
