Default Firewall issue - 12-18-2009 , 12:54 PM

Hi,

One server , 2 client pc's.

I can only connect from the 2 client pc's when the windows
firewall is turned off. How can i still have the windows
firewall running on the server and have the client pc's
connect to the db server at the same time? No fixed IP's
inside the network.

You will need to add an Exception in the Windows Firewall. Add the database server port to the
exception list so the firewall opens the port for access and listening. Depending on your connection
string, you might need to open both TCP and UDP traffic.

Look for Firewall in the help file index.
