Default Error occurs several times a week. - 05-01-2006 , 09:23 AM

We get this error 3-4 times per week, the fault address is always the same.

Reporting queued error: faulting application dbsrv9.exe, version 9.0.2.3249,
faulting module dbserv9.dll, version 9.0.2.3249, fault address 0x000dba96.

I've tried to enter this into the case management but it always tells me
that I have to many characters and I never see the button to upload a text
file.

Environment: Windows 2003 Enterprise Server (32 bit)
4 Gig RAM using the /3G /PAE switches
Dual Xeon 3.6 Mhz processors
3 73 Gig SCSI Drives in Raid 5.

We have 3 additional dual processor servers running Windows 2000 Enterprise
Server with Citrix Metaframe XP 1.0 SP3. The core application is running on
these servers and the remote offices all connect to our site via the
internet. Internally, the Citrix boxes are connecting to the Windows 2003
Enterprise Server via TCP/IP.

Any help on getting this to the correct people would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Michael Gould

Mike,

Can you consistently reproduce this crash? If so, do you know the statement
that causes the crash? If you have a support plan, call 1-800-8Sybase. If
not, then report this as a bug, and include the sa_dump.dmp file created by
the database server after the crash.

A 9.0.2 server with that build number should be trapping the error and
placing a minidump somewhere on your system (possibly in the temp
directory) in addition to writing diagnostic messages to the console
window. That minidump can be invaluable, as it will contain the stack
traces of all active threads in the server, and if you run the server
with -zl (remember last statement) the dump will contain the last
prepared statement executed by each worker.

I suggest you work with technical support to find the necessary evidence
to track down this problem.
