Default Entity Framework Provider not showing - 11-26-2009 , 11:30 PM

I'm trying to create an Entity Data Model with SQL Anywhere
11.0.0.1264 (Personal Server) - part of the PB12 Beta
Download.

Connection works fine in VS 2008 SP1 Server Explorer, I see
Sybase Central/Interactive SQL in the Tools menu, but when I
go to create the EDMX from the database, my connection
doesn't show in the wizard screen, and the only providers
listed are the SQL Server ones. I ran SetupVSPackage /i
anyway, but no luck. What am I missing?

Since you are talking about 11.0.0 GA you will like need to
download and install the latest 11.0.1 Developer Edition to
get this to work. From my information the New Feature
required to support VS 2008 did not get checked in
until builds 1459 and higher. There may be other fixes
since then as well so patch up! and you should be good.

At least you should be 'better' after patching up ... I'd go
to the latest 11.0.1 ebfs myself [since you are just starting
why not get current as well]

The description for this initial support for VS2k8 was:

Visual Studio 2008 SP1, which contained the support for the
Entity Framework, was released after the initial release of SQL
Anywhere 11.0.0. The first EBF of SQL Anywhere contains full
SQL Anywhere support for the Entity Framework.

Jim, if you could provide this solution back to the PB12 Beta people,
that would be great as well. Hopefully they can bundle a more recent
version of SQL Anywhere when the PB12 GA ships.
