Default Disk Space Required to run 11.0.1 EBF Build 2352 - 12-16-2009 , 07:10 PM

Can somebody tell me how much free disk space is required on the OS (c
drive) partition to run the 11.0.1 Build 2352 ebf?

I am running into this on a Windows 2000 server that is fully updated.
Sadly the C partition was only 2 gig in size total when the machine was
setup.

When I ran the install the first time, it started giving me Error 1307's
with the message it was trying to create a specific file under the c:\winnt
directory. It said to clear up more disk space and retry. It was at around
25 meg at that point. I tried to remove a few files and pressed retry.
Didn't even budge. I cancelled, it rolled back the update.

I did an extensive clean up on the machine and managed to get the c drive
free space to just over 150 meg. This time when I ran it I received the
following message.

SQL Anywhere 11

Error 2932. Could not create file
C:\WINNT\Installer\{ECE263B0-6C8B-404C-B4AC-8FAB1C87AB4A}\_5028AC1A_FF33_4D16_974B_2890D646E92 8
from script data. Error: 112.

This machine basically has a small OS partition with 3 very large
partitions. This is were we install programs, etc.

Is there a minimum amount of free space needed to install an EBF?

Any information would really be appreciated.

Quick follow up.

Since I had previously had issues with the last EBF not wanting to install
on this machine, I ended up digging into the installer directory. I found
the file listed below and I deleted it from the installer directory (prior
to me running the install). I actually removed the entire directory from
the install directory.

It made it past the point where I got the error before, but then came up
with the part that said to clear up more space. I went back into the
installer directory and found the left over msi files that were from the
previous install I had attempted back a few months ago.

That gave me 260 more meg.

Once that was cleared it ran without a problem.

Still would be good to know what the free space requirements are for the c
drive during an install.

Jeff, I can't tell you the numbers you'd like to know. But I want to
share some points I found out when I couldn't install an EBF because the
drive containing my TEMP folder was too full. One solution was to
temporary set TEMP to another disk and then start the update. But since
I found out the EBF's EXE file is a self extracting archive, I could
extract it manually to an installation folder of my choice. Digging
deeper you would find that the extracted MSP file (to be executed with
MSI) itself is another archive, that contains some kind of CAB (which is
just another archive). Reminds me of the Russian Matryoshka dolls...

So I would think when you install an EBF it needs at least about twice
the size of the EBF file as temporary space while unpacking everything.
