Default Developing Sybase web applications with Python web framework - 11-16-2009 , 11:47 PM

All:
Here is a good opportunity for the Sybase community to have
a Python framework that works for them and eases
development.
Web2Py (http://www.web2py.com (http://www.web2py.com/) ) is
a free and open source full-stack enterprise web framework
for agile development of fast, scalable, secure and portable
database-driven web-based applications written and
programmable in Python. The Web2Py framework has a large list
of databases communicating via a DAL (Database Abstraction
Layer).
Presently, the supported databases are...Ingres, Informix,
IBM DB2, SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, FireBird,Oracle,
and Google App Engine and speaks multiple protocols such as
HTML/XML, ATOM, RSS, RTF, JSON, AJAX, XML-RPC, CSV, REST,
WIKI, Flash/AMF.
The DAL utilizes any Python database driver that adheres to
the v2.0 API specification via pep-0249.

If you are interested in developing Sybase web applications
with a Python web framework, this is the project for you.

The success of a database is often gaged by how well it
integrates into other tools. The more exposure and
integration the bigger the success of databases like Sybase.
Thank you for your time and interest. Hope to see your
database (Sybase) on the Web2Py supported list.
