Default Deployment for Linux and Windows 64Bit - 10-12-2009 , 04:33 AM

Hi,

I want to use some functions of SA 11.0.1 on a client without installing
SQL-Anywhere complete.
Please tell me what files I have to copy to which directory for:

- Sybase Central
- interactive SQL
- some simpler Tools (e.g dbping, dblocate, dbvalid ...)
- connected by JDBC and ODBC

I need the infos for Linux and Windows 64Bit.

regards
Ingmar

Ingmar,

as there is no "Deployment Wizard" for Windows 64bit and Linux, manual
steps are needed. I guess everything is available in the docs. Cf. the
DocCommentXchange site:
http://dcx.sybase.com/index.php#http...pg-deploy.html

(It might also be useful to run the Deployment Wizard for Windows 32Bit
and check the produced .log file to see what files are put in the
according MSI package. However, the MSI package doesn't create desktop
links and program menu entries, either.)

Hi Volker,

thx for the infos. I have merely looked into the document and I think it
would help me.
Do you know if I could deploy a version for 64Bit with an installed
32Bit-Version and vice versa.

The documentation covers deployment in detail. Look under "deployment"
for more details.

Please note that deployment of Sybase Central and DBISQL is subject to
licensing (they are not licensed for redeployment generally). You can
deploy dbisqlc as part of the deployment licensing.
