Default Communications error when connecting to DB - 04-05-2006 , 04:36 PM






UID=dba;PWD=********;DBF=pcare_save.db;LOG=C:\asac onnect.txt
13:00:01 Attempting SharedMemory connection (no asasrv.ini cached address)

13:00:01 Connected to server over SharedMemory

13:00:01 Connected to ASA Engine version 9.0.2.2451
13:00:01 Connected to the server, attempting to connect to a running
database...
13:00:02 Database is running, but could not connect to it
13:00:02 Communication function i_cs_HandleSQLPresError code 6
13:00:02 Communication function StrmGetInd code 3


getting something similar when connecting using dbping


[Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]Unable to start specified
database: I/O error
error code = -82
SQL state = 08001

Connection parameters:
User=dba
Password=***
DBF:C\TEST\pcare_save.db


dbping -d -c
"uid=dba;pwd=***;DBF=C:\TEST\pcare_save.db;LOG=C:\ asaconnect.txt"

Do you get the same error when you start the database server on the
database? If you run:
dbeng9 C:\TEST\pcare_save.db
what messages appear in the server window?
