Default client cannot connect unless server computer restarted - 12-14-2009 , 12:22 PM

I'm having a problem on our Lan where a specific computer
cannot connet to the sql anywhere 7 server unless the server
computer is rebooted. Once it is rebooted, then they can
connect. if they disconnect, then try to connect again, it
says the database server is not running. other computers on
the lan do not have this problem.

I have read the pdf about troubleshooting connections and
tried some of those suggestions, but I am still stuck.

Is there a start parameter to use to specify the SQL ASA 7
database, to have it write a log, that would describe what
is happening when this lan computer tries to connect?

as far as I know there is not a firewall on the ASA server,
but I don't know what to look for...
thanks

Steve,

- Which exact version of ASA 7 are you running? (dbsrv7 -v)
- How are you starting the server? Is it running on a remote server as a
service? Or do you attempt to auto-start a server on the local computer?
- Please provide the server command line
- Where is the database file located?
- If you add the switches "-z -o console.txt" on the server's command
line, what is printed in the resulting log file?
- If you add "LOG=client.txt" to the client's connection string (or if
you're using a DSN, going to "Advanced", and [X] Display Debugging
information in a log file - C:\client.txt), what is printed in that file?

Regards,

Is there more than sqlanywhere service on this server - if so it could
be a port issue?
