Default Assertion Error 102300 - 11-13-2009 , 09:15 AM

Until yesterday, I have been running Sql Anywhere 10 and 11 (developer's
version). I decided it was time to dump 10 so I uninstalled it. Since
then, I have been getting Assertion error 102300. So I uninstalled 11,
removed all folders referencing Sybase and Sql Anywhere, ran a registry scan
to purge any references, rebooted and did a complete reinstall of 11
(rebooted again). I am still getting the error but it's weird.

1) Delete a database file
2) In Sybase Central, create a database and reload from a previous unload
3) Validated the db
4) ran a few selects to be sure the data was intact - it was
5) exited Sybase Central and ran program referencing the db - no problems
(by the way, I use Clarion which has an SQL Anywhere accelerator driver)
6) Go back to Sybase
7) Try to connect to db - get the following:

Could not connect to the database.

Internal database error *** ERROR *** Assertion failed: 102300 (11.0.0.1490)
File associated with given page id is invalid or not open -- transaction
rolled back
[Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Internal database error *** ERROR ***
Assertion failed: 102300 (11.0.0.1490)
File associated with given page id is invalid or not open -- transaction
rolled back
Error code=-301
SQL state=HY000

Connection parameters:
User=cmt
Password=***
DBF=C:\apps\cmt\Elite\data\cmt.db

I tried this with multiple different databases with the same results.

Any ideas?

Since this is occurring in newly created databases I
would suspect there is something bad in the software
[though the fact that the same thing ran with V10 on the
system makes no sense].

You 11.0 is an early build and exposed to a couple
of problems I am aware of. While I don't of many
customers hitting that particular assert I would get to
11.0.1 (at least) and have the latest ebf in tow just in case.

If that continues to fail after patching up I would use the
latest dbvalid -f to check out the file (it may be a case
that dbvalid skipped in the earlier builds) and if required
rebuild that result.
