Default ASA 8 : ODBC on VISTA 64bit HOME PREMIUM - 10-30-2009 , 08:39 AM

Hi,
I installed sybase ASA 8 on Vista 64bit HOME PREMIUM and it's not
possible to create an ODBC User or System DSN.
I searched the topics but did not find something to solve my problem.

The same installation is functional on Vista 32bit Ultimate.

Thanks in advance
Maria

ASA8 is not officially supported on Vista. That said, you must ensure
that you configure using the 32 bit ODBC Administrator and not the 64
bit version. Unfortunately, MS has opted to use the same name for both
the 32bit and 64 driver. If you use the ODBC Administrator shortcut in
the ASA8 program folder, you should be running the 32 bit version (to
verify, open task manager and look to see if the process name as an *
next to it).

Thanks for the response Chris.
I tried what you advised with no result.
I searched windows some and I found that the executable ODBC
for 32bit applications in 64bit Vista is c:\Windows
\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.
After having run it I had access to Adaptive Server Anywhere 8.
