I, personnally, would put a rush on that V10.0.1 testing
myself (or even V11.0.1). So much has changed in
Vista, win2008 and win2008SP2/Windows7; not to
mention the issues encountered with changes introduced in
Win2003 as well.
According to this link
http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1023009
not even 8.0.3 was never tested with either Vista or
Windows 2008. As such you will be on your own in
that regard too. As to 8.0.1 itself, XP and Windows
2000 were all that was ever tested with that.
As such no one can guarantee it will work the way
you need it to (even assuming you would upgrade
it to 8.0.3 and adding in the latest ebfs).
We do know you will run into issues with "UAC" since
the earliest support for that was only first added to 9.0.2
(at a later ebf) and even then additional things needed to be
added for 2008 and Windows7. So this road will have
some bumps in it for you to work around.
If you can always run as administrator and dismantle or
disable UAC features you may be able to run 8.0.3 in
'some fashion'. For example I have even used Vista and
6.0.3 for test purposes (in the foreground only) but I would
very much hesitate to say that it would be stable enough for
production usage.

Our products are still running ASA 8.01 (upgrading to 10 soon).
We're aware that ASA 8 .x is no longer supported, but does anyone know if
it will install on Windows Server 2008?
Thanks. |
