Josh's reply is the "official position" of Product Management. It's
likely that you can "technically" run ASA7, but there are numerous
caveats with doing this that we cannot provide workarounds for:
1. The default samples possibly will not work. This is because Vista
introduced the rule where you cannot write user-files to the "Program
Files" directory.
2. There will likely be elevation privileges required for many
operations - you'll have to test to find these cases. The UAC will
probably cause "surprise" issues to spring up. We provide an explicit
utility "dbelevate" to assist with this in newer versions.
3. System DSNs have been known to "not work" for some users, based on
missing privileges. Again, you should test for this limitation.
4. "Interact with Desktop" for services has been deprecated. Doing a
search on the newsgroup for other recent threads will explain this
limitation further.
