Default App/dll communication with SQL Anywhere on 2008 Server - 04-21-2010 , 12:48 PM

We are running SQL Anywhere 10.0.1.3415. We have a third-party dll
which communicates with our database. It has worked fine for years on
XP and other operating systems. We installed the database on a 2008
Server box (x86 SP2). If we start up the database via Sybase Central,
the third party dll is unable to communicate with the database, with
the dll throwing an error saying the database open failed. If we
start up the database via command line ( C:\Program Files\Company
Software\OurApp\dbrtfs\dbsrv10.exe" -c 3000m -cw -tl 6000 -x
tcpip{MyIP=10.xx.xx.xxx} -n my2008svrtest c:\Appdb\app.db ) the dll is
able to communicate with the database. The command line parameters
are the same parameters that we have specified in the Configuration
tab for the database service in Sybase Central. We have tried to
start the database up as a service and that also fails with the same
error. Is there something different with starting the database via
command line instead of Sybase Central? Is there some security
setting in 2008 Server that we need to set/unset in order to make it
work? Thanks for any help.
