I can not start up the manage adaptive server anywhere after
I have installed jre-1_3_1_09 ,why?

Do you mean that Sybase Central is not starting for you?
Do you get any error messages of any kind?

If SC is the issue, try the following from the command line:

scjview -batch

This will create a file called "sybasecentral.bat". That file contains
the command that scjview executes to start up the SC interface.

Analyze that command to see if there is anything that might have
obviously been affected by the install of jre-1.3.0.

BTW: where did you install the JRE (i.e. what directory?)
