Doesn't anymore has experience on tuning the "optimizer level"?

It seems like a new feature since ASE 15.0.3 ESD#2, performance
related optimizer changes are not enabled by default.

As a result, as an DBA, we may need to change the value of parameter
"optimizer level" from the default value "ase_default" to
"ase_current" (enable all optimizer changes up through the current
ESD)

In my company's sybase estate, some application's performance issue
disappeared after changing the default "optimizer level".

Does anymore has the similar experience ?
