I/O Batch Size

It has been suggested that we could improve our checkpoints by increasing
this parameter. Does anyone have experience with changing this parameter?

In some testing that I did a few months ago, when we were measuring how
many
inserts could be inserted in a specific table, using JDBC prepared
statements and batch updates, increasing that parameter improved the
insert
throughput.

That was with 32-bit 12.5.3 ESD#4 on Solaris 9 SPARC.

How much did you increase it by?
