Hi Neal,

It sounds similar; I verified the location and the sql.ini
files as well. Nothing seems to be wrong there. I am not
sure if any other application is using the port 5000;
netstat -an does not show the port 5000 being utilized at
all.

Below is the output from the cmd prompt. It looks like the
network issue or resolving to the port issue.

Appreciate your help.

Hello,

It sounds like you are seeing the same issue as described
in this post:

http://www.mydatabasesupport.com/for...e-connect.html

Can you provide the output from the following four
commands: hostname
ipconfig /all
ping 127.0.0.1
telnet 127.0.0.1 5000

Thanks,
Neal

Default Re: ASE 15 Developer Edition - Win XP: Failed installation - 04-24-2008 , 02:32 PM

Hi Neal,

It sounds similar; I verified the location and the sql.ini
files as well. Nothing seems to be wrong there. I am not
sure if any other application is using the port 5000;
netstat -an does not show the port 5000 being utilized at
all.

Below is the output from the cmd prompt. It looks like the
network issue or resolving to the port issue.

Appreciate your help.
