Default How to install a Sybase ASE 12.5.1 on Linux? - 11-15-2003 , 07:45 AM

Hi,

http://sybooks.sybase.com/onlinebook...t=2440;lang=de

speaks about a CD and to start a file

../setup as user sybase. The user sybases exists on my machine and I
logged in as user sybase, but there is no such file called setup.
Everything documented in the docu above relates on an application called
InstallShield, which probably resides in that missing file.

I downloaded the *.rpm files from the website. I do not have a CD. So I
don't know how to install the server nor how to start it. Also when I
try to locate isql I only get links to files that belong to the
POSTGRESQL or C header files that have to do with ODBC but none
belonging to the Sybase. So what should I do?
