I have a DTS package that loads XML files with an ActiveX script and the
SQLXML Bulk load object. I also have a C# web application. If I install the
web app on the server the SQLXML Bulk load runs extremely SLOW. The problem
is fixed by a reboot of the server...I'm not sure why this solves the issue?
The performance problem was also experienced after installing Microsoft
Office. Again, a reboot solved the issue.
Almost forgot...here's the environment....

Win2k
SQL 2000 SP3a
Analysis Services
Reporting Services SP1
SQLXML 3.0

Any ideas on this one??????

It is a low possibility but it could be due to the BSTR allocations. Could
you check that if the memory footprint gets bigger as well?

Could you also check if Bulkload (or ActiveX script hosts the Bulkload)
utilize the cpu at full power?
