Default web interface tool - 07-09-2008 , 06:49 PM

SQL 2008 rc0

I want to give a remote business partner access to my data on my home
network. I would prefer to NOT open port 1433 on my firewall, for obvious
reasons. Does anyone know if any type of web interface tool exists,
preferably that uses SSL or at least some type of security? I need to be
able to give them the ability to run a query remotely. I seem to remember
seeing something like this, but I can't find anything like it on the web.

Thanks, Andre

Allowing your partner access to your home network via Remote Desktop
Connection is one
possibility (using Windows Authentication). Another option is SSL
tunneling, using something
like the freeware utility "Putty". If you need the details on the
latter, someone else will have to
answer (or you might ask in a more relevant group). While I set it up
somewhere every few
months or so, and it works well, I have to figure it all out each time.
