Have you considered using Windows Authentication?

Thanks. It's good to know that the "higher ups" know about the problem.

Hope there is a fix for this and other annoyances soon...

It can get quite annoying having to:

1. select a different connection, then...
2. select the correct connection to get the password to "fill in".

Or

1. re-enter the password from memory. This can be difficult as all of my
servers have passwords which are not subject to easy memorization.

problem. Obviously, i's not been fixed in the RTM.

Has anyone been able to get SSMS 2008 remember passwords for individual
queries contained in a Solution?

When I open a query (double click) in the Solution Explorer, a connection
dialog pops up with the correct connection but without the password and
the
"Remember Password" unchecked.
