Default SQL Server and Visual Studio - 03-03-2010 , 10:51 AM

We are planning on moving our desktops to Windows 7 and are in the testing
phase. I have been asked to do the install of SQL Server 2005 SP3 Client
tools and in the install I have included Business Intelligence Development
Component. This component installs Visual Studio 2005 which includes the
Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Report Services projects. Some
of our developers use the Integration Services project to create SSIS
packages.

On this test PC MS Visual Studio 2010 was to be installed. When the
developer found Visual Studio 2005 which was installed as part of my SQL
Server 2005 Client Tools install he questioned why it is there when he is
installing a newer version.

My question is are the Visual Studio 2010 Business Intelligence Development
Studio compatable with SQL Server 2005 Build 4211? I tried searching and
could not find any Microsoft documents to confirm this. If I could get a
link to a reference that would be most helpful in that I have a meeting this
afternoon.
