I have installed on a user the SQL Server Management Studio Express console and they have full control , at least I think so to the a specific database. The problem is that the user needs to be able to click on the relationship diagram button in the console but it is greyed out. |

Not really sure what button that is (I hardly use the toolbar) or whether it may be a permission issue. However, since the table designer is a piece of crap, I would rather see it as a feature that it's not available. Use the various sp_helpxxx insted to find information, and ALTER TABLE commands to make changes. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel (AT) sommarskog (DOT) se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...ons/books.mspx Erland, |

I was not able to reproduce the situation, or I did not understand what button you are talking about. Anyway, I stand by opinion that everything that disables any part of the Table Designer is a good thing. -- Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel (AT) sommarskog (DOT) se Links for SQL Server Books Online: SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...ons/books.mspx Can I send you a screen shot so you can see what I am referring too ? |
