Hi Ekrem,

Unfortunately the only options available on the feature selection screen are:

Instance Features
Database Engine Services
SQL Server Replication

Shared Features
SQL Client Connectivity SDK

Redistributable Features

with only Database Engine Services, SQL Server Replication and SQL Client
Connectivity SDK selectable.

The SSMS is not mentioned in the descriptions of any of the selectable
options. Selecting all of them the only manager that gets installed is the
configuration manager.

Is there another way to get the SSMS isntalled?

Hi Oriane,

SSMS is a Management Tool of SQL Server and yes, it comes with SQL Server
2008 RC0.

However it'll not be installed unless you select it to be installed during
the SQL Server 2008 Setup. You can select it in the Feature Selection pane.
It's listed under the Shared Features list as Management Tools - Basic

Hi there,

a very simple question: I can't find the SSMS component during the Server
2008 RC0 installation process. Is it on a separate download ?

Thanks a lot

Is it possible you chose an upgrade, and/or already have SQL Server 2005
client tools installed?
