I get the below error everytime.... Another version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 has been detected on this system that must be updated to SP1. Please update all Visual Studio 2008 installations to SP1 level, by visiting Microsoft Update. The thing is i havent installed Visual Studio 2008 - unless one of the other applications I have installed use it? I have also gone to Microsoft Update as mentioned - and installed every patch there is - there are no outstanding patches for windows 7 at all now. Even weirder - is that the checks before the install process actually happens says that Visual Studio 2008 is either not installed or is already SP1 ... so why would it then complain on the next stage that there is a version already there that is not SP1? I could install these tools fine on Windows XP - but i thought i would take a leap and install Win7 in preparation for our ERP upgrade that will happen soon. I have even downloaded the visual studio 2008 SP1 - and it tells me that visual studio is not installed. Which makes me thing the error message is a red herring. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted... Regards, Kyle Brophy IT Manager phone +64 3 373 8617 fax +64 3 389 2230 mobile +64 21 605 853 email kbrophy (AT) elastomer (DOT) co.nz |
