Default sftp - 05-19-2008 , 12:40 PM






has anybody ever used sftp to tansfer file? is there a way to do this in
sqlserver 2000 and/or sqlserver 2005?

SQL Server itself doesn't know what FTP (or sftp) is. I think that SSIS
might have an FTP task... and while I am no SSIS guru, my guess is that for
sftp you'd have to call a program via the command line to achieve it...

Aaron is spot on, in SSIS you need to call a 3rd party sftp program
using the ExecuteProcess task.
