Since Help About on my Query Analyzer gives the version as SQL 8.00.2039 it looks like the Query Analyzer version number will be the same as the service pack number for the server. Are you sure that's true? Do you get a different answer when you connect Query Analyzer to a SQL Server 2005 instance? Does it depend on which query window is open? What if you don't have any query windows open, is the option disabled? I just can't imagine the client tool's help|about option is going to tell you something about some server it is connected to. Sadly, I don't have a copy nearby that I can check. |
