Default PDF from SRS crashes MsFTEFD if carriage return exists - 04-27-2010 , 05:28 PM

Hello:
I receive an error with event ID 26:
"MsFTEFD.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x0700609c"
referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read"."

This happens when MsFTEFD indexes a PDF that was generated with SQL
Reporting Services, and has a carriage return/line feed in a text field.

If I attempt to copy and paste the apparently readable lines of text out of
the PDF, and into Notepad, it is not displayed as readable text. If I
produce a one-line text field in the PDF (without a carriage return/line
feed) then the text is readable (when pasted into Notepad) and MsFTEFD does
not crash when the PDF is indexed.

The server is 2005 Standard, 9.0.4273 (SP3 with Cumulative update 7),
running on Windows Server 2003 Standard.

Is this a bug? Or, is there a different way to indicate a return in a text
field? Any idea on a solution?

Thanks,
Matt
