Default mismatch version between db engine and ssms in sql server 2005 - 10-25-2008 , 11:05 AM

Hi everyone, as you can read in the object, in our production server ssms
version differs from that of the db engine.

In fact we have 3042 for management studio (Help -> About) and 3282 for the
engine (selecting @@VERSION). This question is puzzling me, since I have
just applied the cu9 for the sp2 - manually - and I still get the same old
version.

Any advice or suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance (and sorry for my poor English)

Cumulative updates don't always affect the client tools (and even updates to
the client tools don't necessarily update the version in Help|About for
SSMS).
